The Boston College South Asian Student Association (SASA), founded in 1996, is a student-led group that represents the countries of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

The mission of the South Asian Student Association is to increase awareness and educate the Boston College community about South Asian culture and heritage, creating an environment in which students are encouraged to explore and experience South Asian culture. By hosting various cultural, social, service and educational events and by reaching out to other groups of the campus community, we foster social interaction among South Asian students, enhance student-faculty relations and facilitate the adjustment process for incoming South Asian students. A key aspect of our mission each year is to promote the diffusion of South Asian students into the greater Boston College community, which is accomplished through far-reaching and inviting events.
